Multisize CPC IOL

Description

The product consists of 11 display formats and 1 Native responsive format.
Send creativities by email to traffico@adv.italiaonline.it with reference to Italiaonline Sales Account in copy: at least 3 working days before publication. In the subject of the email, please indicate order ID and description (Ex: LB_012345 – Advertiser Name – Product Name – Month/Year): in absence of order ID, indicate the description (see the creativity policy for details).

Formats

A Native Responsive format is available. It automatically adapts itself to the size of the available space and it is particulary suitable for integrated communication in editorial contests. For technical specifications, please refer to the “Native Responsive Format Specifications” section at the bottom of the page. This type of format cannot be used in redirect or click tracking.
There are 11 standard IAB display formats available too, including at least 3 mandatory. Italiaonline recommends to produce them all or alternatively the minimum set of the best performing features: 300×250, 728×90, 300×600. The technical specifications of these formats are summarized in the table below.
Italiaonline recommends to produce all the formats ( Native Responsive + Display ) but it’s possibile to choose one of the two types (Native Responsive or Display) too.

Animation lenght and speedAnimation length must be 30 seconds or shorter. Animations can be looped, but the animations must stop after 30 seconds. Animated GIF ads must be slower than 5 FPS.

HTML5 creativities

File type.ZIP - The .ZIP file must contain the html code for the ads, like all the following file types: .CSS, .JS, .GIF, .PNG, .JPG, .JPEG, .SVG

Native responsive format

 

BrandIndicate the brand name
Short titleMax 25 characters, blank spaces included. It is the first line of the ads, is visualized in the narrow advertising sizes in place of the long title and can be visualized with or without the description.
Long titleMax 90 characters, blank spaces included. It is the first line of the ads, is visualized in the broad advertising sizes in place of the short title and can be visualized with or without the description.
DescriptionMax 90 characters, blank spaces included. It is added to the title, invites the consumers to complete an action and being visualized after the title (short or long). Note: The rendering of description length will depend on the site where is visualized. If is shortened, it will finish with an ellipsis.
Image format.JPG, .JPEG, .PNG . No text must appear in image, if appears it cannot occupy more than the 20% of the image. Animated images are not allowed.
Image dimensionGive a horizontal image with proportions 1.91:1 larger than 600 x 314. The recommended dimensions are 1200 x 628 pixels. Give also a vertical image with proportions 1:1, larger than 300 x 300. The recommended dimensions are 1200 x 1200 pixels.
Image maximum weight1 MB
LogoSquare Logo (1: 1) dimensions equal to or greater than 128 x 128 px [recommended sizes 1200 x 1200 px]. Horizontal logo (4: 1) dimensions equal to or greater than 512 x 128 px [1200 x 300 px recommended size]. Choose a transparent background. Size max 1 MB. Image format: .jpg, .jpeg, .png

Best practice Native Responsive format

Recommended:

  • Use an evocative image not focused on product, but calling to some action
  • Write complete sentences
  • Give as much information as you can in summary
  • Use humor or ask questions in order to arouse the interest of the audience and capture their attention
  • Make a promise to propose a solution for a need

To avoid:

  • No text or logo must appear into the evocative images
  • No price should appear in titles
  • The brand name must not appear in the titles
  • Do not exceed the recommended number of characters

Redirect (not applicable to native responsive format)

Third-party tag
Provide third-party tags like iframes or javascript tag, with HTTPS protocol. No Search Engines Tracking / Part Four are also allowed, and tags should not contain calls to external libraries, in particular open source, to protect the IOL advertising and property ecosystem.
Third-party creativity
It is admitted to change third-party creativities as long as after a previous request.
Third-party animation lenght
The animation of ads must not exceed 30 seconds. After that, animation must be completely stopped. There could be another 4 minutes of animation, but only if user-initiated play (click required).
Link 
There must be only one URL and only the final URL associated with each creative, URLs in redirect are not accepted

Links and tracking (static and dynamic formats)

Link

URL must be sent separately to Italiaonline. It’s necessaty each creativity to have a single URL associated and only the final URL. The URLS in redirect are not avaiable. Send to Italiaonline a link with a domain (eg: http://adv.italiaonline.it …).
In the case of HTML5 creativities, it’s necessary not to put the URL into the creativity.

Tracking  – Click count

You can use third-party tags for tracking clicks, following the directions in the Redirect chapter, or alternatively you can provide clickcommand (tracking URLs) compatible with AdWords.
